Festival to highlight diverse cultures in Renton

The Renton Multicultural Festival will be returning to the city next month.

The festival is a celebration of diversity, culture, music, and art, and features performers and acts who share their heritage with the community through the spoken word, dance, and song. Performers will engage with attendees by giving a brief demonstration and share how their artwork ties in with their culture. A multicultural art exhibit will also be hosted by The Voice of Planet. There will be a fashion event added this year to showcase original clothing that represents the style and craftsmanship of a culture.

Poster printing is often used throughout a city to promote such unique and special events.

The Renton Civic Center will host the opening night. The second day of the event will be at Piazza Park, which is in downtown Renton, and at the Renton Pavilion Event Center. Grants given by the Renton Municipal Arts Commission and the city of Renton are partially supporting the festival.

The festival is currently looking for anyone interested in participating in the fashion show or in performing. The deadline to apply to participate in the festival is Monday, April 4. All performers will be compensated.

The festival will open on Friday, May 6th at 6:00 pm and will run on Saturday, May 7th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
