Annual event to help feed those in need

The Home Team Harvest event will be held for the 20th year by KING 5 to benefit Northwest Harvest.

The goal for this year is to raise enough money so that 20 million meals can be provided for families in need in Washington state. Residents of Renton will likely want to participate in this special event.

Those interested in participating in this fundraising event can donate online by buying a virtual hunger bag for amounts of $5, $10, or $20 at either Safeway or Albertson’s. Such stores often call upon local printing services for help in creating displays and Posters to promote such charitable efforts. Northwest Harvest and other hunger programs across the state will receive these funds so that those in needs will be able to purchase the items they need or that are most important to them at either one of these stores.

Northwest Harvest is Washington’s largest hunger relief agency and works with over 375 local food banks, high-need schools, and meal programs to enable equitable access to nutritious food across the state.

A special kickoff broadcast will be on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 am on KING 5, designed to inform people about the campaign, how people can help reach the goal of providing 20 million meals, and how such efforts change lives in the community.
