Series of events begins in Issaquah

The first in a series of events is set to get underway in Issaquah.

The EcoMarket Summer Series allows people to buy products from small eco-friendly artisans, farmers, and other vendors, all while learning how to embrace sustainable living practices. The markets are held outdoors but will move into Blakely Hall if the weather turns inclement.

The vendors who have confirmed they will attend the May market are:

• Sunny Littles, which provides Earth-friendly products for families and children
• Soli and Sun, which provides handmade accessories that help support female artisans working in the Philippines
• botanical Print vendor Scarabajo
• Ridwell explaining how to recycle and sustainably reuse products
• Porpe Artifacts, designer and maker of hand-made jewelry.
• Out of the Box Eco-Store, offering solutions on how to reuse and refill various products
• Northwest Makes, creator of art and textiles from ethically sourced cotton and linen
• Keepers Collective, which handmakes skincare products using honey
• FeelLinks, guiding children to develop confidence and make social connections using dolls and feeling Journals
• Farm Among Us, a market-garden farm that grows local, nutritious produce using only what nature provides
• author Amanda Geers, who wrote “Sir Frederique von Turtlestein.”

Organizers will provide updates and announce specials as the date draws nearer and could also use flyer printing to create a handout listing the vendors. The first market is set for May 12, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Village Green in Issaquah.
