Issaquah merchants organize special event

An upcoming winter event is being planned in the Gilman village area of Issaquah.

The Gilman Village Merchants are inviting everyone to the Gilman Village Winter Fest to kick off the holiday season. Visitors can walk through the village, do some holiday shopping, listen to live music, and enjoy food and drink at participating restaurants.

The event is limited to those 21 years of age and older, so the little ones will have to stay home. The tickets include drink tokens for 12 one-ounce drinks, and there is a $5 discount available for those who buy two or more bottles of spirits or wine from participating vendors. Wine sales are tax free, and attendees may purchase three additional tickets at the event for $5. People should bring their own glass (BYOG), but if that’s not possible, glasses will be provided.

Participating distilleries, breweries, and wineries confirmed thus far are William Grassie, Vinifera, Upchurch Vineyard, Truthteller Winery, The Walls Vineyards, Sparkman, Pearl & Stone, Patterson Cellars, Kinhaven Winery, Five Star Cellars, Dossier Wine Collective, Damsel Cellars-Artisan Hill Winery, and Cairdeas Winery.

Gilman Village is a unique shopping center in Issaquah. It was developed in 1972, when historic commercial and residential buildings were moved, renovated, and turned into independent restaurants and stores.

The festival is scheduled for November 15, from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm. The village is at 317 North West Gilman Boulevard. Occasions like this can be made even more fun when organizers work with banner printing to create decorations.
