Huge salmon festival returns to Issaquah

One of the biggest events of the year is returning to Issaquah.

This event is not the only thing returning, so are the salmon, and their voyage from the ocean back to their home river to spawn is celebrated in Salmon Days. The event, presented by the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, first kicked off in 1970, and is two full days of fun for everyone.

Things get started on the first day with the Grand Parade, which begins at 10.00 am. After the parade, it will be time to explore the more than 200 artisan booths that will be found throughout the downtown area. In addition, food vendors with a wide range of ethnic choices, including Pacific Northwest specialties, will be on hand to tempt people’s appetites.

The Field of Fun is a family-oriented area featuring booths and activities specifically designed for children, and the renowned Dock Dogs competition is back.

The most important part of the celebration is the return of the salmon. There are several locations in the city where people can gather to watch them return. These include the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery on West Sunset Way, the most-visited hatchery in the state. Other good locations for observing the salmon run include the Issaquah Creek Bridge, and the Confluence Park Bridge.

Salmon Days 2025 are October 4 and 5, Saturday and Sunday. Citywide events like this can benefit when organizers use poster printing to advertise them.
