Issaquah residents are encouraged to help keep their city clean at an upcoming event.
Three times a year, the City of Issaquah schedules cleanup events, and invites everyone to participate. These events occur three times annually, and the summer get-together is on the way. When they plan this type of event, organizers can consider using flyer printing to create a handout for participants showing specific areas where work will take place.
The Downtown Issaquah Association leads the Keep Issaquah Beautiful Day – Summer, a day when civic partners, businesses, and residents get together to care for the city. They plant and weed, pick up trash, paint, repair sidewalks, and work throughout the city. Volunteers can make a substantial difference in a matter of hours.
The Historic Shell Station at 232 Front Street North is the check-in point for participants. Everyone is welcome, and there are jobs for people of all abilities and ages, and schedules are flexible. People who have work gloves should bring them, and community service hours are available to students.
The upcoming Keep Issaquah Beautiful day is scheduled for July 11, from 9.00 am until 12.00 pm. Volunteers may come as individuals, or as a group. In addition, it is possible to check-out a clean-up kit any time during the year, and the city is also looking for people to lead cleanup efforts in their own neighborhoods. Events like this help build a sense of community, and participants often end up making new friends.
