An upcoming event in Issaquah celebrates the earliest start of the warmer months with a special ceremony.
An Imbolc celebration, Seeds of Light, is coming to Issaquah’s Pickering Barn, and event venue in the city’s downtown. The ceremony glows with candlelight and celebrates connection, renewal, and the promise that light will return after the darkness of winter. Imbolc is a traditional Gaelic festival that acknowledges the beginning of spring.
A performance from Strange & the Familiars will be part of the proceedings. This hard-to-define band draws inspiration from literature and the art of comic Books, and uses it to create musical experiences that walk the line between musical theater and rock opera while exploring some of the darker aspects of human emotion.
The market has an otherworldly feel to it as more than 60 vendors will be on hand offering items like crystals, plants, and candles. Food trucks will also be on site.
The celebration is scheduled for Sunday, February 22. The market will be open from 12.00 pm until 5.00 pm, and John and Sandra of Earth and Sky Divination will hold the Imbolc Ritual at 12.00 pm. Strange & the Familiars will perform at 3.00 pm, and workshops will be held all day long. Events such as this benefit from colorful advertisements, which organizers can create using poster printing.
