One of Issaquah’s signature events is coming up soon.
The Issaquah Community Center will be the site of the annual Issaquah Culture Fest, which is hosted by the city, partnered with the Issaquah Library, the Issaquah Highland Council, Friends of the Issaquah Library, the Downtown Issaquah Association, and 4Culture.
The free event is a family-friend celebration of the cultural diversity found in Issaquah. Festivities will include food trucks, resource booths, Henna art, interactive art, world dances, and music.
Entertainment will include the Hopa Trop Folk Dance Ensemble, a Bulgarian music ensemble; the Japanese drum group Seattle Matsuri Taiko; Eldar Hudiyev, a violinist from Turkmenistan; Baile Folklore, a Mexican dance troupe; and Ojasvi Art, an Indian dance performance from Bali. Nahid Steven will emcee the event.
Food trucks on hand include Paparepas Venezuelan Food Truck. a Vietnamese food truck called Mami Tran; the Bombae Eats Food Tent featuring Mumbai street food; and the Kulphi LLC Food Cart, which services Indian/Asian desserts.
Other events include free Henna designs for everyone, musical instruments from various cultures children can try, and live animals courtesy of the Cougar Mountain Zoo.
The Resource Fair will give everyone a chance to learn about the services available from local businesses and community members.
The Culture Fest is scheduled for Friday, September 5 on the lawn outside the community center, from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Organizers of complex events like this can use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, listing attractions and performance schedules.
