Seasons final trail race coming up in Issaquah

Running season is ending with a final race in Issaquah.

Arc’teryx Seattle is presenting Grand Ridge, the last race of the Evergreen running season. The event is a trail race with four different options: a 50K, a full marathon, a half-marathon, and a five-mile race. A 1.1-mile kids’ Woodland Speeders race is offered as well.

The location is Grand Ridge Park, where the Washington Trails Association has been working since 2000 to develop more than seven miles of trails. They are all connected, and some were built by users, and some were old logging roads. The work has resulted in a trail system that is perfect for biking, hiking, and running.

The course comprises two separate loops, one for the five-mile race and the other for the longer races. Those running the marathon will have to make two loops of the half-marathon route, while those doing the 50K will need to circle the half-marathon loop twice, and then add additional five-mile loop. Race organizers note that the park will not be closed during the event, so runners need to be aware of cyclists and pedestrians on the trails.

Aid stations on the course will be stocked with Clif bars, water, PBJ sandwiches, and more. The event is November 9, with starting times for the races staggered. Organizers of events like this will often work with a printer and ask them to use banner printing to create Signs marking the course.
