A traditional event in Issaquah will celebrate the return of spring and the turn toward warmer weather.
The Imbolc Festival is a family friendly event organized by the PNW Witches’ Market, which formed in Ballard, Washington, to support The Cabiri, a performing arts organization in the local area. They hold similar events throughout the year.
The Imbolc Festival offers visitors the chance to see more than 80 mystics and vendors who will have unique handmade items for sale. Coffee vendors and food trucks will be on hand as well. The organizers choose vendors carefully, looking for people who made their own items rather than reselling others’ goods.
Among the items likely to be available at the festival are jewelry, herbs and herbal items, divination tools such as runes, cosmetics, body care products, wearable art, clothing, incense, candles, publications and Books, tinctures, oils, paintings, prints, and sculptures. Rocks and crystals may be offered as well, but the vendor must be local. When organizers plan events this complex, they often use flyer printing to create handouts, listing the vendors and where they can be found in the venue.
The two-day Imbolc Festival honors Brigid, the goddess who symbolizes inspiration, creativity, and renewal. The event will take place at Issaquah’s Pickering Barn on February 1 and 2, from 11.00 am until 5.00 pm both days. “Familiars” are not allowed unless they can be carried in the attendee’s arms.
