Holiday caroling at the Depot

Issaquah is already getting ready for the holidays, and has put a special event on the calendar.

The Downtown Issaquah Association is inviting everyone to its traditional holiday sing-a-long, where everyone will have a chance to perform their favorite carols. Attendees who have a tambourine, ukulele, other instrument, or who just like to sing—shower or operatic quality doesn't matter—are asked to come to the depot and have fun. Everybody who comes to the event will be given candy canes and hot chocolate.

The sing-a-long will be held at the Issaquah Depot Museum, a historic landmark. In fact, the museum has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, and the structure has been restored using materials common at the time of its construction, so that it is an exact replica of the original building. Among the things to see at the museum are a flat car, switch engine, a 1960s-era caboose, and an Army Car from the 1940s. The depot itself was first built in 1889.

The Holiday Sing-a-Long is currently scheduled for December 10, from 6.00 pm until 7.30 pm, at the museum at 78 1st Avenue NE. Anyone interested in attending should check with the organizer closer to the date of the event, in case of changes to the schedule. Banner printing is an excellent resource to use to create festive decorations for outdoor events such as this.
