Gardening classes soon to get underway

The City of Issaquah has teamed up with the Cascade Water Alliance to sponsor a series of free classes that will help residents use water efficiently and, at the same time, create healthy and beautiful landscapes.

There are 26 classes being offered in Issaquah and throughout the region in total.

The first of the classes taking place in Issaquah is the ‘Unthirsty Garden and Landscape’, hosted by Marianne Binetti, scheduled for Thursday, February 15, at Blakely Hall on Park Drive, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.

‘Edible Landscapes for the Homeowner’ follows on March 15 at the Peter Kirk Community Center, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm, and ‘Container Gardening Dos and Don’ts’ will be held at the Squak Mountain Nursery from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on February 24.

‘Favorite Northwest Natives’, about raising local plants, takes place on March 24 at Squak Mountain Nursery, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. The final class is ‘Sustainable Veggie Gardening’, which will be held March 29, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm, at Issaquah City Hall.

Information like this is valuable to a lot of people, so event organizers might consider working with a flyer printing company to create a mailer to be delivered in a targeted Mailing, directly to area residents. The flyer could include both the schedule and information about each class.
