The Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra will be holding a garden tour for the fundraiser that is the organization’s largest one of the year.
This is the third such fundraiser that the Symphony Orchestra has had since it was brought back to life in 2013 after a hiatus of five years.
The event will be at the Bellevue Botanical Garden in Issaquah and will feature a light reception and tour of the three private gardens. At each of the private gardens, members of the orchestra will perform in small chamber ensembles. One garden will have a theme reminiscent of India.
According to the coordinator of the tour, Martha Garrett, the gardens are rather large, English in nature and very special. Each one is like a little slice of heaven.
The gardens were designed by landscape architects Dan Borroff and Darwin Webb.
The garden tours will be on Sunday June 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a reception that will include hors d’oevres and wine with more chamber music from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The cost of tickets is $25 per person and can be purchased online, by mail or phone.
