Festival to celebrate music and art set for Issaquah

A special event is returning to Issaquah and will bring a diverse audience together to enjoy art and music.

The Downtown Issaquah Association recently announced plans for the 7th Annual Confluence Music Festival, a five-hour event featuring locally and internationally known musicians. There is no charge to attend.

In addition to live music, there will be a wine and beer garden, the Plein Air Community Art Program, food trucks, artisans, and something new this year, performances by Original Theatre Black Dog—Shakespeare in the Park. “Plein Air” refers to a style of painting done by artists working in the open air, using natural light.

The Original Theatre Black Dog presents a sampling of Shakespeare, performing scenes from The Tempest, Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, King Lear, and Hamlet.

Although artists have not been announced, a look at last year’s celebration gives a hint of what type of entertainment might be expected. In 2024, the festival featured vocalist Mercedes Nicole; the John Primer Band; and Too Slim and the Taildraggers.

Food trucks taking part are the Issaquah Ice Cream Trike, Lucky Luciano, and WiseGuy.

Events like this can benefit if organizers promote them with Posters, which they will find at Print shops.

The festival is set for August 31, from 2.00 pm until 7.00 pm. Although the event is free, donations will be accepted to help support the festival.
