What's Happening in Aberdeen, WA…

Delicious fundraiser coming to Aberdeen

An event coming up in Aberdeen will raise funds in the most enjoyable way—eating a scrumptious meal.

The Ocosta Booster Club has scheduled its 27th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feed, with all benefits going to the Ocosta Booster Club Scholarship Program. In addition to crab, the menu features spaghetti, coleslaw, and garlic bread. Beverages will be sold separately, and the Westport Fishing Families are donating the crab.

Westport is famous as one of the largest commercial fishing ports on the West Coast. Peak crabbing season is December to March, so the feed is perfectly timed. The most sought-after crab species here are red rock crabs, and Dungeness crabs, called “The Kings of the North.” Red rocks have earned a nickname as well: “The Pearl of the Pacific Northwest.” There’s no word on which ones will be served.

The Ocosta Booster Club, which is a non-profit organization, helps to support the extra-curricular recreational, academic, and athletic programs at Ocosta Junior/Senior High School, as well as scholarships. Organizers of events like this will often use flyer printing to create handouts about the event, which they can distribute in the local area.

The Crab Feed is scheduled for March 8, from 12.00 pm until 6.00 pm. The venue is the Ocosta Recreation Hall at 98 Atlantic Avenue in Aberdeen. Tickets will be sold at the event, and are $40 per person, or $20 for youngsters from 6-12, with children five and under admitted free.
