An upcoming performance in Aberdeen will get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The Civic Choir & Concert Band – Winter Wonderland concert will bring mistletoe and mittens, carols and cocoa to mind as people gather for a holiday event. Both ensembles will be playing holiday favorites everyone will enjoy. When they plan shows like this, organizers can work with poster printing to ensure they receive publicity.
The Grays Harbor Civic Choir is a community choir that presents all sorts of choral works and usually gives two to three concerts annually at the Grays Harbor Bishop Center for Performing Arts. The choir director is Kari Hasbrouck, who is a music teacher at Grays Harbor College. The ensemble is a true community endeavor since everyone is welcome with no auditions required.
Tiffany Maki is the director of the Grays Harbor Concert Band, and like Hasbrouck, is a music teacher at Grays Harbor College. Established in 2017, the Concert Band is open to musicians of all abilities and ages. Like the choir, the band performs two or three concerts annually.
Both groups will be featured at the upcoming Winter Wonderland event. The event is scheduled for December 6, and admission is $15 for adults; area students, military personnel, and seniors pay $12; and young people under 12 as well as Grays Harbor College students are free. The Bishop Center is at 1620 Edward P. Smith Drive in Aberdeen and is ADA accessible.
