Class for flagger certification in Aberdeen

Those individuals who would enjoy working as a flagger should consider taking an upcoming course in Aberdeen.

Flaggers are a vital part of any highway crew. They are responsible for establishing proper warnings so drivers know a crew is ahead, and controlling traffic in a work zone to make sure crew members are safe. They also ensure that traffic moves consistently and safely. Students who complete the training successfully will be able to work in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington as a certified flagger. The certification is good for three years.

Requirements of the course are: the student must bring proof of vaccination against COVID-19, or a negative COVID result from a test administered within 72 hours of the class. They must bring picture ID, be at least 18 years old, and pre-register. To be certified, they must pass the test with 80% correct or better. Flyer printing is often used to create handouts for classes like this.

The fee for the class is $65, and includes the flagger certification card and textbook. Payment is due at registration, and must be made in full. No-shows will not have their money refunded. However, if the class is canceled, registered students will be notified and given their choice of a refund or attending another class.

The class is set for February 12, from 7.45 am until 5.00 pm. Students must arrive by 7.45 or they will not be admitted.
