Celebrating season in Aberdeen

Aberdeen is planning a two-day celebration of the season, bringing joyful fun to the city’s downtown.

Winterfest 2024 kicks off with the Trolley Express Light Tour. The express takes people on a free ride through Broadway Hill where they can see the Christmas lights. The route starts and ends at the Aberdeen Art Center at 200 West Market Street, and riders will enjoy a cookie and hot chocolate, and perhaps a visit from Santa himself.

The following day brings an opportunity to have Breakfast with Santa. Messy Jessy’s Restaurant, located at 212 I Street, is the venue. The meal is free for children 12 years of age and younger, and others are welcome to enjoy breakfast by making a donation. Amy and Rick Moyer will be on hand to take photos with Santa, which are free of charge.

A Holiday Market will be open at the D&R Event Center, where shoppers can find more than 30 vendors offering treats, crafts, and unique gifts.

Finally, the Go Get The Pho Building at 100 E. Heron Stret will be the venue for the Gingerbread House Contest & Show. People can vote for their favorite house and enjoy the work of local decorators and bakers.

The Trolley Express Light Tour is scheduled for 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm on December 6, and Breakfast with Santa will be served December 7, from 9.00 am until 11.00 am. Organizers of events like this may work with flyer printing to create schedules for attendees.
