Vermont means business next month

The Start Your Own Business Workshop, presented by the Vermont Small Business Development Center, is taking place in the area in September.

This four-hour session is expected to give guests all the information they need to start their own business. Presented by Laurel Butler, topics to be covered are expected to include deciding if an idea for a business is actually viable, how to target customers through market research, and writing a business plan.

Attendees will also find out how to register a company, how to protect the brand, and what financing options and resources are available to them.

All of the attendees will receive a start-up workbook, various handouts, and access to 20 courses online in subjects like marketing and money. The workshop will also act as a networking opportunity for those just starting out in business who wish to create a referral list and exchange digital Business Cards.

It is likely that local printing companies helped provide the printed materials for this course, which will no doubt attract people from all around the area, including Hinesburg.
