Colchester residents will soon enjoy a friendly competition as cupcakes are displayed via a virtual presentation on Zoom.
The baking and decorating will take place in participants’ homes maintaining health safety and opening up a new format for the cupcake competition. Once the contest starts, bakers cannot leave the camera range. When the cupcakes are finished, they will need to be delivered to Town Hall for judging after the contest ends.
Participation in the cupcake competition is free to enter. Each registrant will be required to provide their own supplies for their cupcake products. There will be seven criteria for judging include cake flavor, density, neatness, theme relevancy, frosting, flavor, and consistency.
The top three winners of the cupcake contest will receive a Cupcake Plaque to display proudly in recognition of their accomplishment. The winner will be invited to the next event as they will have a chance later to defend the championship.
Local Print shops have professionals on hand to help with virtual events. Logo Design can be created to highlight participating teams, particularly if they have a local business.
The Colchester Cupcake Competition will take place Saturday, April 24 starting at 9:00 am. Registration is open through April 16. Teams of two may enter to participate. Further questions can be directed to the Colchester Parks and Recreation organization.
