Local and national fans of the Hinesburg company Vermont Smoke & Cure may be excited to hear that the company is launching a new line of sausages flavored with ciders from Jasper Hill Farm and Citizen Cider.
The five new flavors are Hard Cider, Blue Cheese, Uncured Bacon, Chorizo, and Sweet Italian.
Vermont Smoke & Cure’s CEO Chris Bailey released a statement discussing his excitement at teaming his company up with two other artisan producers. He reiterated that one of Vermont Smoke & Cure’s guiding principles is to work with and buy ingredients from neighbors and friends. Citizen Cider is based in nearby Burlington, Vermont, while Jasper Hill Farm is a cheesemaker from Greensboro. The five sausages will be available at certain Whole Foods locations, and also in the northeast areas of Canada.
The company is committed to using only meats from animals that were fed vegetarian diets, without antibiotics or added hormones. Their meats are also sodium nitrate-free. Along with sausages, the company also produces dried and cured meats, bacon, hams, and other local meat products. At its online store, the company sells to-go packs of their meat stick products, including pepperoni and others. All items feature the brand’s distinctive Logo Design.
