Networking for women in Colchester

A unique event for women is coming up in Colchester.

The Rise of the Valkyries is a networking event hosted jointly by the Valkyries Brewing Club, Mercy Connections, and Vermont Womenpreneurs. The get together is a fundraiser to support scholarships for the StartUp business effort, which is part of the Inclusive Entrepreneurship program of Mercy Connections. Women are invited to come to the event to connect with one another, support the program, and empower women in the community.

Part of the proceeds will be used to match Foam Brewers donation to the StartUp program at Mercy Connections. Mercy Connections supports people who have routinely been excluded from the business community, such as people of color and women. The Inclusive Entrepreneurship program helps those who are opening a small business, looking for a side project, or are self-employed. The programs help entrepreneurs plan, start, and sustain a small business.

Musician Emma Cook will perform at the event, Foam Brewers will provide light snacks, and Paprika Catering will have empanadas available for purchase. In addition, there will be a cocktail bar, and a special release of the brewery’s collaboration brew, Rise of the Valkyries.

Tickets to the event, which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 31 at Foam Brewers, are $15, and there is an option to donate an additional $5. Special occasions like this are specifically designed to encourage networking, making them ideal occasions for exchanging Business Cards.
