A musical event is coming up in Colchester that will feature talented players from high schools throughout the state.
The annual All State Music Festival is operated by the Vermont All State Committee and supported by the Vermont Music Educators Association (VMEA). The festival gives musicians from high schools throughout Vermont the chance to appear with a jazz ensemble, chorus, orchestra, or band, with some of the finest conductors in the nation on the podium. After three days of rehearsal, performances will be given by each of the four groups. Organizers of events like this can work with brochure printing to create informative programs for audience members.
Auditions for the festival were submitted via video, which proved to be a great success. This allows the event to be held in person, with Colchester High School hosting the event, and students who require lodging will be housed at the Burlington Hilton. The fee to attend is $115, which covers all the expenses associated with the festival, with the exception of housing. Hotel bills will be paid from the Rainy Day Fund, and the scholarship fund.
In order to keep everyone safe, mitigations with regard to ongoing health concerns will be put in place as needed.
The festival takes place from May 5 to May 7 at Colchester High School; Melissa Towle and Evan Peltier will host the festival.
