Monthlong festival to attract families

The Very Merry Middlebury festival is taking place for the entire month of December.

There will be a variety of events and activities that should appeal to people of all ages. There is set to be an I Spy contest where participants find hidden ornaments in 10 store windows; those who find them all will be entered into a draw for $100.

Santa will arrive by fire truck on Saturday, December 3 and will be visiting with the children from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Middlebury Community House. The next chance will not come until December 17 at Danforth Pewter.

Visitors can have their picture taken with various cutouts of characters, including Santa and a nutcracker. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides, free gift wrapping, and cocoa for 25ยข.

Other activities include the Midd Night Stroll on December 8 and the Holiday Character breakfast on December 10. The breakfast will have coloring activities, music, and balloons, as well as appearances by various holiday characters. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children aged 12 and under.

It is likely that people from all over the area, including nearby Hinesburg, will decide to take the short trip. To advertise, organizers may invest in flyer printing services.

Very Merry Middlebury will be held from December 1 to 31. To find out more about planned activities, call 802-598-1696.
