Hinesburg is getting ready to celebrate Independence Day for another year with a variety of events to be held throughout the town.
The first event to take place will be the Hilly Hobble Foot Race on July 3. Participants can choose between a 10K, 5K or 2K race. Registration fees are $5 or $3 for children. Trophies will be awarded to the top men and women in age-based categories.
The next day will start off with a book sale and a silent auction to be held at Town Hall. This will be followed by a parade that will begin at 11:00 AM and travel from Route 116 and Buck Hill Road to Commerce Park. The theme of this year's parade is "Beach Party" and participants will be judged in various categories including ‘Best of Parade’, ‘Best Costume’, and ‘Best Business Float’.
After the parade there will be lots more to do around town. Planned activities include the Lions Club duck race, an ice cream social, food booths, music in HCS Park, a dunk tank, and bounce houses. The day will finish off with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 9:30 pm.
No doubt some of the participants in the Hinesburg parade will be investing in banner printing services to draw attention to their float or marching group.
