Fundraiser set to benefit two local charities

‘How Sweet: a Special Evening to benefit Dragonheart Vermont’, is taking place in a month’s time in nearby Essex Junction. A percentage of the proceeds will also go to the Paul Gallagher Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund.

The event is a presentation of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Guests will be treated to a range of appetizers, drinks, and sweets. They will also have the opportunity to bid on a variety items at an auction.

Dragonheart Vermont is a dragon boat team that is made up of breast cancer survivors. The team has competed in races all over the world and is seen as great therapy for the women who participate.

The Paul Gallagher Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund provides one Vermont student with a full scholarship. To receive it, the student must plan on studying business or a related topic. They must also show a commitment both to their community and to entrepreneurship.

In order to attract people from all over the area, including nearby Hinesburg, organizers of such events often invest in flyer or poster printing services to help spread the word.

‘How Sweet’ will take place at the Essex Resort and Spa on February 10 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 for Chamber members and $20 for nonmembers; while new members or those who have purchased an event pass will be admitted free of charge. Visit the Chamber's website to learn more.
