Fun family event planned in Colchester

An event that has proved irresistible for kids of all ages is coming to Colchester.

The 14th Annual Touch-a-Truck event will take place soon in the parking lot at Colchester High School. The show brings together an assortment of vehicles that are usually not available for examination. Among these are fire trucks, dump trucks, police cars, tractors, and more. Photos of the 2016 event shows people enjoying a close-up look at a helicopter, a towering crane fully extended, several police vehicles, robots, race cars, a cement mixer, ambulances, a motorcycle, and heavy equipment such as bulldozers.

Many vehicles come from public service agencies such as the police and fire departments, but any company that would like to display a vehicle at the event is urged to contact the organizer. Touch-A-Truck events are held throughout the country and always tend to be popular, so organizers of events like this could use flyer printing to create handouts for attendees, listing the vehicles on display.

The upcoming Touch-a-Truck fun is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 in two sessions. The first will be from 9:00 am until 10:30 am, and is designated a “Quiet Time” when no sirens will be used. This is ideal for children who are sensitive to loud sounds and lights. The second session is from 10:30 am until 11:00 am, when air horns and sirens may be sounded.
