The 5K Fun Run is scheduled this summer in Colchester, celebrating America’s independence with a full agenda of activities. The event will start at Union Memorial School with registration and the race beginning at 8:15 am.
Following the 5K fun, there will be a parade starting at 11:00 am. The organizers are currently looking for a Grand Marshall and interested parties are encouraged to contact the city leaders. Light refreshments will be available for the racers.
Bayside Beach will be open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on July 4, with lifeguards on duty. Water sport rentals will be onsite for kayak, pedal boats, and paddleboards. The Bayside Inflatable Water Park also will have rentals available.
Concession vendors will provide food, drinks, trinkets, and souvenirs. Vendors often use local Print services in preparing for large community events of this nature. Banner printing allows large signage to advertise location, products, and services for the vendors.
The Hitmen will perform live featuring music from the 1970s and 1980s, such as songs from Santana, Steely Dan and John Mellencamp. At dusk, the attendees can move to the Bayside Softball Field to watch the spectacular fireworks shows. Parking is recommended at the Colchester high school or middle school.
Funds are gathered for this event each year through donations to help support costs such as entertainment, flags, and the fireworks. Donations may be made online via the event website.
