Colchester ready to run

The Causeway 5K and 15K Race is scheduled for this summer in Colchester.

A limit of 150 participants is in place for the 5K race, and 85 for the 15K route. Proceeds from the event benefit improvements and maintenance for the Causeway for future generations.

The race starts at the Airport Park and takes runners on a gravel trail through the historic Causeway, consisting of several turnaround points for a scenic journey before returning to the finish line at Airport Park.

The route includes flat gravel, as well as dirt trails in the midst of wetlands and views of Lake Champlain. The race is open to all ages with the 10K and 15K open to ages 12 and older. Keeping safety in mind, bikes, baby joggers, pets and roller blades are not allowed in the race or alongside the pathways.

Print shops are usually involved in creating signage for outdoor races such as through banner printing. Banners are hung along the start and finish lines, as well as throughout the race paths to direct runners appropriately.

The Colchester Causeway 5K and 15K Race will take place Saturday, June 5 with registration for check-in and bib pick-up starting at 6:30 and continuing until 7:45 am. The race starts at 8:00 am. The Airport Park is located at 500 Colchester Point Road. The race fee is $30 per person, and registration must be made in advance.
