Colchester Lions Club brings Easter fun

It’s time to have some spring fun in Colchester.

The Colchester Lions Club is sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which will take place in beautiful Bayside Park. Everyone is invited to join the Easter Bunny for this special event.

Egg hunters should plan to bring a basket to hold their eggs and any other goodies they may find. The eggs will be hidden in different areas of the park, and children will be put in different groups by age to hunt for them. Youngsters aged four and under will be able to hunt in Lower Bayside Park, while older children, ages five through eight, will enjoy their hunt in Upper Bayside Park. The park covers a spacious 22 acres overlooking the Malletts Bay area of Lake Champlain.

The Lions are not only sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt, but they are also hosting a food drive to benefit the Community Food Shelf. They ask that anyone coming to participate in the hunt donate at least one canned or non-perishable product to the cause.

The Easter Egg Hunt is set for April 19, beginning at 10.00 am. People coming to the hunt are asked to park at Colchester High School and come into the park via the softball field road near Laker Lane. When they plan events like this, organizers may decide to use banner printing to create signage that marks out the areas to be used by various groups.
