Runners looking for a new challenge have an event coming up in Colchester.
RunVermont is the organizer of the upcoming Half Marathon Unplugged, which is returning for the 17th time. The race is a point-to-point event that has its starting line in Colchester at Airport Park, and its finish line in Burlington, on Flynn Avenue. There is also a two-person relay option available.
Those who are participating in the relay may choose the location they prefer to pass the baton. Suggested exchange points are Leddy Park, which is at about the 7-mile mark, or Airport Park, which will mean the first runner will cover 3 to 4.5 miles, while the second runner will cover 8.5 to 10 miles. Both races have virtual options available.
Participants will receive chip timing, buses to the start, plus a ride to downtown from the finish line, and finisher medals. Water stations will be placed at Delta Park, Leddy Park, and Harrison Avenue, and finishers will be able to enjoy goodies from food trucks, and cold beer from Switchback Brewing.
The course is mostly flat, following the Burlington bikepath and giving runners views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
The Half Marathon Unplugged is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at 9:00 am. Banner printing companies can create signage that will stand up to outdoor weather at events like this.
