The annual Get your Rear in Gear race will take place this summer in Colchester.
It is presented by the Colon Cancer Coalition and is the largest event series that focuses on colon cancer. The funds raised through the races are used to help bring awareness and increase screening for the disease.
This signature event has significant impact on the community as it creates awareness and affords the public the opportunity to take part in educational projects.
The 5K race will include medals for the top finishers broken into specific age groups. The medals are touted as marathon-quality and are coveted by the winners each time. All of the events can either be walked or ran with the intention for all participants to finish.
Banner printing in advance for races is typically an organizer’s task. They can work with local Print shops in creating the large signage that can be placed in highly visible areas providing information to the racers.
Registered runners and walkers will have packets that can be picked up in advanced or early on the morning of the race. It is recommended that participants pick them up the day before to avoid long lines.
