The 5th Annual Colchester Causeway 5K/10K/15K Race is scheduled for the summer. The race is filled with challenges and fun as it winds through the city.
By participating in this event, racers will have the chance to see the scenic and historic Colchester Causeway. Participants will start out at Airport Park and make their way through the wetlands, dirt and gravel trails. Lake Champlain can be enjoyed as racers run by.
The event is open to all ages, except the 15K race, which requires participants to be 12 years or older. Dogs, bikes, baby joggers and roller blades are not allowed due to safety concerns.
Banner printing is an important component for outdoor races. Local Print shops can create Banners to place along the entrance, routes and at the conclusion of the event to ensure everyone is clear on the directions.
Proceeds from the run will benefit the Causeway in future improvements and ongoing maintenance. Participant registration includes event T-Shirts, results and refreshments upon finishing the race.
The 2020 Colchester Causeway 5K/15K Race will take place on Saturday, June 6. Registration fee is $30. The runner limit in the 5K is 200, and a 25 maximum applies in the 10K and 15K. Runners can register online. Early packet pick-up for the race will be available from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday at the Parks and Recreation office on Blakely Road.
