Colchester residents can celebrate Valentine’s Day running, as the 2021 Cupid 5K will be hosted at Shelburne Field House just a few miles away.
Running, walking or jogging can take place with friends, spouses, family members, or acquaintances. For single participants, event organizers like to mention there is always a chance to meet a new running partner – especially since it takes place on Valentine’s Day.
The race is in memory of Karen Newman, a beloved community member who participated in many triathlons and races. She won a silver medal in 2012 in the Masters Age Group at the Triathlon World Championship in New Zealand. While her racing career continued to rise, she never forgot about the local races and frequently participated in the Cupid 5K.
In memory of Karen, Racevermont.com is donating a percentage of proceeds from this race in her name to the Cancer Patient Support Foundation.
Race organizers often call upon the services of local Print shops to order Banners. Banner printing creates highly visible signage that can be posted high in the air for all to see. They are commonly placed at starting and finishing lines and certain points along the way.
The Cupid 5K is an easy race with only a slight hill. Each finisher will receive a Cupid 5K medal. The race begins at 9:00, and the venue is located at 166 Athletic Drive.
