Heavyfest 5 is coming up this May in Burlington, and proceeds from it will benefit Big Heavy World.
Among those who will be performing at the festival are Kal Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band, Soule Monde, Swale, Gowanus, and Rough Francis. In addition to music, there will be a beer garden, food trucks, samples of beer, and guided tours of the Magic Hat Brewery. There is also set to be a live art exhibition that will feature the work of Jason Tooth and Brian Capes.
This event should attract plenty of music fans from all over the area, including Hinesburg. Organizers might invest in services such as postcard printing to help spread the word, and some of the acts may also use such items to inform their fans of their appearance. Postcards are inexpensive to produce and distribute.
Big Heavy World is mainly run by volunteers. It brings a variety of services to the community, including acting as a record label for local musicians, a community radio station, and an online music store that brings attention to independent music acts. It also provides a public listening library.
