Annual dinner scheduled in Colchester

A fun evening is planned for those attending an upcoming banquet in Colchester.

The Green Mountain Chapter of the Ruffled Grouse Society is having its 30th Annual Conservation Dinner in Colchester. The evening gives conservation enthusiasts an opportunity to meet others who share their interests. In addition, raffles are planned that will help raise money for the organization. Fishing, hunting, and items with outdoor themes, as well as other prizes, are waiting for someone to win them. The money raised by the raffles will be used to safeguard the forests and strengthen the Green Mountain Chapter’s impact.

The Ruffled Grouse Society and the American Woodcock Society (RGS & AWS) unite conservationists in their efforts to improve habitats for all wildlife, but in particular the American woodcock and the ruffled grouse. This group is focused on forests and the wildlife they contain, recognizing that all life, not just the animals that live there, depends on forests, making the entire habitat so important.

They concentrate on the grouse and woodcock because these birds will only thrive in diverse, healthy forests, so the health of the birds is a bellwether of the condition of the woods.

The dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, with raffles and a social hour beginning at 5.30 pm, followed by dinner at 7.00 pm. The venue is the Hampton Inn at 42 Lower Mountain View Drive in Colchester. Events like this are often advertised with colorful Posters, which planners can find at Print shops.
