The American Association of University Women Springfield Annandale is hosting its 2023 Spring Fling Luncheon and Silent Auction, featuring special guest Renee Wynn.
Wynn has more than 30 years’ experience as a leader in cybersecurity operations, global information technology, and environmental policy. She was the lead on programs developed at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and was formerly the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the iconic agency responsible for space exploration.
NASA was created by the President and Congress of the United States in 1958 with the words:
“An Act to provide for research into the problems of flight within and outside the Earth's atmosphere, and for other purposes."
The Moon flights and landings, as well as the operations of the International Space Station, are among NASA’s projects.
Renee Wynn will discuss the space programs currently underway at NASA, and explore the ways in which the discoveries made in space have an impact on people’s lives. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create handouts that provide background information about the subject to be discussed.
The luncheon is scheduled for Friday, May 5, from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm, at the Springfield Golf & Country Club. The club is located at 8301 Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield.
