Popular band to show up in Springfield

A much-appreciated dance and rock band is coming to Springfield.

Fat Chance is a party band based in DC who will be appearing soon at Pete’s Tavern in Springfield. The group has been entertaining audiences throughout the area for approximately 15 years, appearing at private events, weddings, corporate events, and outdoors during the summer. They also appear at clubs in the local area. The band’s sets usually include songs from the 1960s through the 1990s, but they do occasionally play something more recent.

A look at their list reveals that they play a huge range of music from all genres, though they concentrate mostly on rock. Titles and artists include Bon Jovi’s classic “Wanted Dead or Alive,” “Bad Case of Loving You” by Robert Palmer, The Beatles’ iconic “Day Tripper,” the rollicking “Fat-Bottomed Girls” by Queen, the smash hit “I Want You to Want Me“ by Cheap Trick, and “Honky Tonk Woman” by the Rolling Stones.

Pete's Tavern is a comfortable neighborhood gathering spot that serves comfort food, which is locally sourced daily. The venue also provides support to local musicians by offering space for acoustic duos to play Wednesdays, and for bands to perform on the weekends.

Fat Chance will be at Pete’s Tavern, 6531 Backlick Road, on Saturday, February 8, starting at 8:00 pm. When they want to promote intimate concerts like this, organizers may use flyer printing to create handouts to distribute in the local area.
