Nonprofit to host retirement planning class in Chantilly area

Retirement Planning University is hosting a two-night class in the Chantilly area this March.

The first night will cover tax, estate and investment planning, and the second session will look at healthcare, Social Security and income planning. Participants will receive a workbook to use during the classes and keep for reference afterward. Course providers often work with Print shops to create this type of workbook.

Instructors are experienced financial advisors who regularly work with clients in or approaching retirement, giving them real-world insights into what does and does not work. The course tuition also includes a one-on-one meeting with an instructor where participants can ask questions about their personal situations. Instructors will not recommend specific products or investments.

Registration is open through Eventbrite now for $39 per person. A two-for-one deal is also available for attendees bringing a friend or spouse. The course is open to anyone in the area, including residents of Chantilly and other towns in the region. It is intended for individuals and couples who are either currently retired or are within five years of their planned retirement date. Retirement Planning University is a nonprofit focused on financial education.

The Retirement Planning Education Course will take place on Monday, March 9, and Tuesday, March 10, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at George Mason University.
