The Eleanor C. Lawrence Park Friends group is hosting the 5th Annual ParktoberFest in Chantilly this fall.
The festival will include live music, food and vendors. Performers will include The Walkaways and Lucas Mason. Food and drink options include lunch from TacoOne and Burgorilla and beer from ONO Brewery. Local artists, crafters and bakers will have their work for sale. Banner printing services are popular with stallholders to decorate their tables.
The festival is free to attend, with food and other items available for purchase. Attendees should bring their own blankets to sit on. The organizers are still accepting vendor applications and are also looking for volunteers to help with the event. ECL Park Friends runs several programs focused on protecting both the park and the planet. These include developing environmental education curricula for teachers, promoting park events and fundraising to support their work. Public events include a monthly campfire and nighttime hike series. The Friends group also operates the Woodlands Stewardship Education Center, which provides information about natural resources in the area for park visitors and hosts exhibits and educational events.
ParktoberFest is on Saturday, October 4, from 12 pm to 5 pm on the Cabell’s Mill lawn at Eleanor C. Park in Chantilly.
