Chantilly to celebrate pets and parks

The fourth annual Park and Bark festival is taking place in Chantilly this spring.

The festival includes a variety of dog-themed vendors and activities. The Lazy Dog Restaurant will serve craft beers, and the Kaziville hot dog truck will offer a gourmet selection of sausages and hot dogs. Vendors, including crafters and bakers, will have a variety of pet products and dog-themed items for sale. Woofiesmobile mobile grooming will provide dog grooming services on-site. Lucas Mason will perform live music.

A Forever Home Rescue Foundation will have dogs available for adoption. A Forever Home is a nonprofit organization that places dogs in northern Virginia foster homes while finding the right match for their permanent homes. Nonprofits often give out promotional Pens at this type of community event.

While there will be food and items available for purchase, the festival is a free event. It is open to all ages. Park staff will run activities for kids, and leashed dogs are welcome. Parking at the Visitor Center is free. There is additional parking at The Woodlands Stewardship Education Center, which connects to the Visitor Center via the park’s trails. The Visitor Center will also be open throughout the event.

The Park and Bark festival will be on Saturday, May 9, from 11 am to 3 pm, at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park outside the Walney Visitor Center.
