Green Spring Gardens is hosting several Saturday evening workshops this September.
The Sunset Soiree workshops all take place after the Gardens’ regular hours. Attendees can watch the sunset from the glasshouse, which holds tropical plants, and view the current art exhibit. Mocktails made with herbs grown in the Green Spring Gardens will be served. The park hosts rotating art exhibits in its Historic House.
There are three workshop options. In the Fern and Flower Pressing session, participants will learn to arrange and press a selection of leaves and flowers. In the Forest Incense workshop, participants will combine different natural ingredients to create a unique scent that evokes the forest. The Kokedama session will teach participants to create a moss-wrapped base for a small plant. Organizers often work with Print shops to make handouts for this type of workshop.
Registration is open on the Fairfax County Parks website now. Tickets are $21 for the Fern and Flower Pressing workshop and $28 for the Forest Incense and Kokedama workshops. The ticket price includes all materials and supplies. Green Spring Gardens Park is part of the Fairfax County Parks system. It is free and open to the public, especially residents of Chantilly and other towns in the county.
The Sunset Soiree workshops will take place on Saturday, September 12, with start times at 5:00 pm, 5:45 pm, and 6:30 pm.
