An early May event is shining a spotlight on the furry friends many choose to include in their families, while also benefitting a Midland organization.
The Hot Dog Run: Fast & Furriest is an event from the Midland Humane Coalition. The activity is a fun run and walk for families in the local area. The admission fee will go back to the Midland Humane Coalition to aid in its mission of saving dogs and cats that would otherwise be put down, finding each of them their forever homes instead.
There are two lengths of races for attendees to choose from. These are five kilometers and one mile. The five kilometer race has an entry fee of $35, while the one mile has a fee of $25. Purchases are available through RunSignUp.
Pets are welcome to take part as well. After the races, there will also be a costume contest for pets and their humans, with prizes for the top three placements in several categories. A market of small businesses will also be available to shop from.
Donations can be made on the coalition’s website to help with the care of the animals they have.
The venue will be the Allison Fine Arts Building of Midland College. Many fundraisers will use flyer printing as a promotion technique. The event will be running between 7:30am and 12:00pm on May 2nd.
