Prosperity Bank has laid plans for a new location at the corner of North Pecos Street and West Louisiana Avenue in Midland. The new branch, conveniently located in the downtown area, will be the bank's 10th location in the area, reflecting the growing demand for financial services in the Permian Basin. Bank executives and local officials were in attendance at the November 5th groundbreaking ceremony.
Rick Bartholomee, Permian Basin Regional President for Prosperity Bank, recently stated his enthusiasm for the project:
“This project represents our long-term commitment to supporting the region’s growth, creating jobs, and providing the community with modern, secure, and accessible banking services.”
Local officials from the Planning and Zoning Commission initially expressed concern that the new project would cause nearby businesses to lose parking capacity. To ease such concerns, officials will conduct a parking accommodation evaluation during the building permit phase. Poster printing is often used during construction efforts.
Prosperity Bank began operations in 1983, long before the digital revolution. Since that time, the bank has expanded its traditional loan and deposit banking services by adding digital banking solutions, credit and debit cards, and wealth management. Prosperity Bancshares, Inc., a Houston-based financial holding company, operates over 283 locations across Texas and Oklahoma, with total assets of over $38B.
Officials hope to have the new complex open by the fall of 2026.
