A multiday event is coming back to Midland next month to celebrate pop culture.
Permian Basin Comic Con is an event from Conlive that gives people a chance to indulge in their favorite fandoms across the world of popular media. Attendees can enjoy panels, a market, cosplay experiences, live performers, food trucks, animals on display, photo ops, visits with Santa Claus, celebrities, gaming sessions, and craft projects.
Among the guestlist for the event are stars such as Susanne Blakeslee, Bryson Brugus, Zachary Gordon, Christy Carlson Romano, and Yuri Lowenthal. Guests can get autographs and selfies at the tables for each star. Each sets their own prices, so these will vary from person to person.
Vendors will have offerings in a number of categories and fandom themes. These can include items like toys, collectibles, chapter Books and comics, artwork or prints, games, handmade goods, clothes, and accessories.
Tickets are available on the Conlive website. Friday and Sunday passes are $20, while Saturday passes are $25. At the time of writing, the two-day weekend pass is on sale for $30, but the price may increase closer to the event. A VIP pass is $150.
The venue is the Midland Horseshoe Arena. Many convention spaces like this use promotion techniques like flyer printing. The event will be from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm on March 13, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm on March 14, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on March 15.
