Texas is home to several species of venomous snakes, and these slithery creatures and their venom will be the focus of a Houston conference.
The Houston Venom Conference is scheduled for the Westin House Medical Center, and it's been organized by the Asclepius Snakebite Foundation. Continuing education credits may be available, and the day will be hosted in two separate parts.
The day will include a wide assortment of guest speakers who will discuss topics ranging from the therapeutic use of venom to rattlesnakes, envenomation in pets, veterinary care for snakes and also hospital treatment of snake bites. There will be a patient panel as well as an opportunity to “ask the experts”, and during the evening hours, the attendees will head to the Houston Zoo's Reptile and Amphibian House for an exclusive activity. Its target audience is healthcare and veterinary workers as well as members of the Wilderness Medical Society and anyone else interested.
Conference organizers often try to pack in as much learning as possible in the time available. A brochure printing company will be happy to prepare packages of additional information for the delegates so they can continue to learn after it has drawn to a close.
The Houston Venom Conference will run from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm on April 11th. Tickets to attend start at $71.21.
