A celebration of military veterans is in the works for Denton, with the Texas Veterans’ Hall of Fame prepared to usher in a new class of inductees.
The 6th Annual Texas Veterans’ Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will begin in a few weeks. It will allow Denton residents to celebrate the lives and sacrifices of local veterans who are being honored for their heroics and contributions to society. Attendees will learn more about these heroes as they are enshrined in the Texas Veterans’ Hall of Fame, which is chartered to educate Texans on the stories and accomplishments of Texas veterans.
The event will share touching stories and the brave deeds of 2024’s inductees. Don Graves, one of two surviving Marines who served at Iwo Jima during World War II, will be the induction ceremony’s keynote speaker. Banner printing is a colorful way to welcome inductees and their families to the stage at such celebrations.
Other inductees include Jack Lummus, Jr., a Medal of Honor recipient; Joe Spears, a Vietnam veteran; and Mike Pena, a Medal of Honor recipient who served in Korea. Barry Corbin will make a special appearance at the ceremony.
The University of North Texas Gateway Center will host the ceremony on Saturday, November 16, with the doors opening at 5:00 PM. General admission tickets are for sale online at $50 per guest.
