The Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) is coming back to downtown Denton in early 2026.
The festival will be hosted across multiple venues and features screenings of Black-cinema premieres, spoken-word performances, filmmaker workshops, networking events, community talks, after-hours music, and art exhibitions.
The film festival will focus mainly on emerging voices from the Southwest, interactive sessions from students, and panel discussions with industry professionals. Visitors can enjoy festival-themed specials from the many restaurants and downtown galleries that will participate by staying open late during the event.
According to the planners, quantities are limited and visitors should book their tickets as early as possible. They also encourage guests to purchase the VIP All Experience Pass, which includes priority early seating, special events, access to the private Filmmaker Lounge, an exclusive VIP bag, and 10% off festival merchandise.
While majority of the film screenings will be at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, guests can expect to visit locations such as the Margo Jones Performance Hall at TWU and the Embassy Suites. Organizers can use flyer printing at events like this to share daily schedules and highlight the different venues.
The Denton Black Film Festival aims to shine a spotlight on social justice issues through powerful films and though-provoking conversations. It is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, January 28 through Sunday, February 1, 2026.
