TreeHouse branches out and makes Dallas its first stop

Like Whole Foods Market, TreeHouse is another new concept business that is expanding out of its original market in Austin, and the home improvement retailer has chosen Dallas as its first away from “home” location.

The company, which is based on the concept of ecofriendly construction materials, announced on February 16 that it will open its first store outside of Austin early next year. The location for the new TreeHouse will be a new North Dallas shopping center.

Although its opening is about a year off, Dallas residents can expect to see the company’s simple yet distinctive Logo Design popping up in the North Dallas area. Often, companies prepare their potential customer base with a variety of ad specialties to get their name out into the public consciousness.

According to Jason Ballard, co-founder and CEO of TreeHouse, the company does not view itself as a niche organization, but one at the forefront of a growing movement. Russell Buchanan, a Dallas architect, echoes that sentiment, saying that clients are showing increasing awareness of ecofriendly homebuilding methods and materials.

The 25,000-square-foot Dallas TreeHouse will dedicate between 20 to 40 percent of that space to outdoor displays featuring rainwater collection, native landscaping, and other environmentally sound outdoor projects. A wide range of products will be available, such as roofing supplies, insulation, paint, flooring, and LED lighting.
