Texas ranked among best states for U.S. start-ups

A recent report by WalletHub ranking the Best & Worst States to Start a Business has placed Texas as third from the top for best state for a start-up, with big cities like Dallas no doubt pivotal to this achievement.

WalletHub, a personal finance website, assigned the top two slots for Best States to Start a Business to Utah and Florida, with Texas and Colorado not far behind at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. The rest of the top ten were made up Idaho, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada in order, with Oklahoma and California bringing up the rear at No. 9 and No. 10.

New businesses in any of these states have numerous uses for printing services, including signage and Logo Design.

In order to create a ranking of the Best & Worst States, the study zeroed in on three key elements: business costs, access to resources, and business environment across 27 key start-up success indicators for each of the 50 states. Each of those 27 metrics was evaluated on a 100-point scale, with score for each state being arrived at by averaging all the metric scores.

With a total score of 56.85 points, Texas scored best for its average hours in work week (where it was ranked fourth), and achieved a No. 10 ranking for both its availability of human capital and its average increase in number of small businesses. For the variety of its industry, the state came in at No. 13, and it reached No. 14 for cost of living.
